    Recently,Prof. Zhouguang Lu’s group from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, SUSTech has published several papers about his researches on energy electrocatalytic materials in leading journals like The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters (IF:9.353, titled “Synergistic Effects of C/a-MoC and Ag for Efficient Oxygen Reduction Reaction”) and Small (IF:8.643,titled “Synergistic Interlayer and Defect Engineering in VS2 Nanosheets toward Efficient Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Reaction”).

    Recently, Professor Xugang Guo’s group in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at SUSTech published their latest research results as a cover paper in Journal of the American Chemical Society, a top international journal in the field of chemistry (IF = 13.858). Titled “(Semi)ladder-Type Bithiophene Imide-Based All-Acceptor Semiconductors: Synthesis, Structure–Property Correlations, and Unipolar n-Type Transistor Performance”, this work reported breakthrough in n-type organic semiconductor materials (OSCs), which enabled high-performance unipolar n-type organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) application.

    Recently, Associate Professor Xugang Guo’s group from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering published their latest research advance on unipolar n-type organic thin-film transistors in Advanced Materials, a top international journal specialized in materials science (impact factor = 19.791), under the title “Thiazole Imide-Based All-Acceptor Homopolymer: Achieving High-Performance Unipolar Electron Transport in Organic Thin-Film Transistors”.

    Recently, SUSTech Associate Professor Chun Cheng’s group from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering reported their latest work of synthesizing monolayer MoS2 dendrite by processing the substrate with adhesive tapes. This work entitled with “Twin Defect Derived Growth of Atomically Thin MoS2 Dendrites” was published on ACS Nano (impact factor: 13.942). PhD student Jingwei Wang from Prof. Cheng’s group is the first author of this paper and Department of Materials Science and Engineering of SUSTech is the first corresponding affiliation.

    Micro- and nanotechnology refers to the technology related to structures and devices with a characteristic scale on the micrometer or nanometer level, which is invisible to naked eyes. It is everywhere in modern frontier science and technology as shown in Figure 1. A mobile phone that we use in our daily life is a great example of micro- and nanotechnologies. Micro- and nanotechnology enables the production and manufacturing of key components of cell phones, such as LCD or OLED displays, flash memories, micro electro-mechanical sensors (MEMS), and high-density printed circuit boards (PCB).

    Recently, SUSTech Associate Professor Guo Xugang’s group from the Department of Material Sciences and Engineering published their latest research results on all-polymer solar cells (All-PSCs) in Angewandte Chemie International Edition, a top international journal in the field of chemistry (IF=11.994). Titled “Effects of Bithiophene Imide Fusion on the Device Performance of Organic Thin-Film Transistors and All-Polymer Solar Cells”, this work focuses on the design of novel polymer acceptor materials for use in All-PSCs.

    Recently, Prof. Yongye Liang’s research group has developed a multiscale structure-engineering approach to construct new hybrid electrocatalysts for water splitting with high performance. This work has been recently published in the journal “Advanced Functional Materials” entitled “Iron-Doped Cobalt Monophosphide Nanosheet/Carbon Nanotube Hybrids as Active and Stable Electrocatalysts for Water Splitting”.

    Recently, the research team lead by Prof. Zhouguang Lu from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of SUSTech, published research paper entitled “Highly Durable Organic Electrode for Sodium-Ion Batteries via a Stabilized α-C Radical Intermediate” on Nature Communications Online, and proposed a novel concept that improve the electrode stability of organic polymer through radical group.
